Twelve years ago, I purchased a domain name for a photography website. I didn’t tell anyone. I just had this crazy idea that I wanted to be a photographer. In 2020, due to COVID, my photography income was basically zero. Business struggled and even in 2022 I debated closing my doors. That’s the honest truth.

But something happened when I seriously thought about closing. People messaged me sharing their stories with me. I reflected back on all of the joy I get from photographing babies. Being a photographer has provided for my family. It has allowed me to create a schedule where I can still be there for my kids at school drop off and pick up. I have loved watching kids grow and being a part of people’s memories.

I’m in my 12th year of photography and I am so thankful to be able to continue to own a business. I am thankful to my clients. It’s going to be a wonderful year!
